AllMedia Grabber can help you get multimedia objects that are contained in other files, such as executables, libraries, custom controls, data files and documents. The program has an intuitive interface and all the process is based on a wizard that takes you through the steps of selecting the file or folder to scan and deciding what to do with the results. Luckily, it even integrates into Window shell so it is accessible through a secondary mouse click as well.
The tool supports quite a long list of media formats, including images (ICO, CUR, BMP, WMF), video (AVI, FLC, CUR, BMP, WMF) and audio (MP3, WAV, XM). Moreover, you can set the program to look for some of these file types only. When the results are ready, you can save them to a specified folder. In the case of images, they can be copied to the clipboard and set as wallpaper. Likewise, it can convert all graphic formats to ICO or BMP. Unfortunately, the unregistered version can detect the media objects inside the selected files but does not allow extracting them in any form. Probably because of that, the filters on the left panel seem not to work properly.
All in all, AllMedia Grabber comes quite handy when you need to reuse multimedia objects locked inside various types of files. This product is sold in two versions: standard and advanced; and the only difference between them lies on the number of media formats supported.
